What the result can—and cannot—mean

The CLB thresholds are published for official skill scores. When Compass displays a proportional practice score, the same lookup is approximate and cannot support an immigration decision.

A complete PTE Core test contains 52-67 tasks across 19 task types and uses proprietary calibrated integrated scoring. This uncalibrated Compass four-skill draft contains 4 Writing, 5 Speaking, 15 Reading, and 14 Listening interactions. Objective Reading and Listening receive proportional practice estimates with skill-specific approximate CLB context; constructed Writing and Speaking are not assessed, so there is no overall score or immigration decision.

Three interpretation rules

  1. Reading and Listening use different benchmark thresholds.
  2. Integrated provider scoring cannot be rebuilt from objective practice alone.
  3. All required official abilities still matter for a complete application.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter a Compass practice score?

No. Enter only a skill score from an official provider report; Compass practice estimates remain approximate and separate.

Why do skill thresholds differ?

The published benchmark table maps each reported ability separately.

Does this establish immigration eligibility?

No. Compass offers self-directed Speaking practice without recording or assessment, does not validate a full official report, and does not apply program rules.
